How To Fix Galaxy S7 Back Button Not Working

For those that own a Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, from time to time people have reported that the back button isn’t working. These buttons on the Galaxy S7 are touch keys that light up with each tap. These keys light up when the Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge is turned on, showing that the smartphone is on and functioning. Thus, many believe that if the lights are not turned on that it means that the Galaxy S7 back button isn’t working. If you have touch keys by the Home button or the return key and it doesn’t turn on and isn’t working, below we’ll explain how you can fix this problem.

For the majority of people that own a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, the touch key is not broken and is actually working just as it’s supposed to. The reason that these buttons are not working is because they’re just disabled for energy saving purposes. Samsung has a default setting that has these keys turned off because the Galaxy S7 is in energy saving mode, and in most cases things that make light are going to be the first things to go when it comes to saving energy. Follow these step-by-step instructions on how to turn on the touch key lights on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

How to fix Touch Key light not working:

  1. Turn on the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
  2. Open the Menu page.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Select Quick Settings.
  5. Select Power Saving.
  6. Go to Power Saving Mode.
  7. Then go to Restrict Performance.
  8. Uncheck the box next to Turn Off Touch Key Light.

Now the lights for the two touch keys on the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge will be turned back on and functioning like they should be.
