The 11-inch MacBook Air is Apple’s least expensive laptop available. This entry-level laptop features a 11.6-inch screen with a screen resoluition of 1366 x 768 pixels. The base specs for the 11-inch MacBook Air start with a 1.4 Intel i5 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage.

Compare the new MacBook to other Apple computers:

The MacBook also feature a new battery that has an Intel Core M processor runs at 5 watts, and its new battery is custom-shaped to maximize as much space as possible within the device. Apple suggests that new MacBook would have a 9 hour of battery life of web browsing and up to 10 hours of iTunes movie playback.

This new model will also have a new USB-C port that allows for un to five ports in one. It provides power, USB data transfer, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA capabilities. The MacBook does not use the traditional MagSafe charging method that’s available in other MacBooks.

With the screen size just larger than the iPad Air, but with the power and functionality of a laptop, the 11-inch MacBook Air is able to handle surfing the web, watching movies, and other basic tasks. This computer is great for kids and college students looking for a lightweight, flexible system. Also, with some upgrades on the hardware side, you can use this even for picture, music and video editing.

Purchasing the 12-inch MacBook is for those wanting a computer between the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Those that want the newest product should be purchasing the 12-inch MacBook. This MacBook is thinner, and features a new trackpad system. It also has a new USB-C port that allows for un to five ports in one.
