5 Places To Get Free Calendars
In this article I’m talking about printed calendars like you hang up on the wall in your office and not the internet kind.
Nobody likes buying a calendar. Nobody. It’s not that you can’t find them, considering there are pop up stores dedicated to them every December. It’s not that you can’t afford it, it’s just the principle of the whole thing, because there’s no such thing as a cheap calendar.
Yes, it’s true you can print your own if you wish, but the paper isn’t bound or on a coil, nor does it have that little hole so you can tack it up on the wall. Besides, printer ink is worth its weight in gold.
Here are 5 places to get free calendars. Whenever you find them, always take at least three.
1. Major Car Dealership Service Center
By ‘major’ I mean GM, Chrysler, Ford, Toyota, and so on, because smaller dealerships almost never give anything away for free.
Go to the service center and there will usually be free calendars on the desk in the waiting area, or at the service clerk’s window. If you’re lucky, they may also have pocket-sized calendars for the refrigerator. If you’re quick, you can grab your bounty and be on your way before you lock eyes with someone who will make sure you waste six hours looking at cars you don’t need.
2. Auto Parts Stores
NAPA, PepBoys, AdvanceAuto, Autozone, and local-yokel auto parts stores will usually have free calendars at the checkout. Granted, going into a store purely for the freebies is generally considered rude.
3. Real Estate Offices
I remember a time when every real estate office had free calendars of some kind, including magnet-style calendars for the fridge. That’s not the case anymore, but some larger companies do still have them. The trick, however, is going into the office to grab a calendar and leave without buying a house.
4. The Bank
Banks are tricky with calendars because they usually always have them but only break them out on ‘special’ occasions. Why they do this, I have no idea. The next time you go to your local bank, ask if they have calendars. They probably do. While you’re at it, ask if they have letter openers, too, because they give those away for free as well.
5. Dunkin’ Donuts
This is a per-franchise thing but most DD’s do give away free calendars. Again, this is one of those things where if you don’t see them, ask and they probably have them behind the counter.
Did I miss any?
