How to Make Your Galaxy S10 Discoverable

Samsung Galaxy S10 is one of the best smartphones right now, but some users struggle with its Bluetooth feature. If you want to learn how to make S10 discoverable, you are in the right place. Read on and find out the basics, like enabling Bluetooth on the S10.

Of course, we’ll include some fixes and advanced techniques for fixing Bluetooth issues, which seem to be quite frequent among S10 users.

Basic Guidelines

Enabling Bluetooth on the S10 will make it discoverable by other Bluetooth devices. You can do this in no time, but there are some kinks and issues with this feature. Here is a tutorial for connecting to the Discovery Mode on S10, and the fixes will follow shortly after. Follow the steps to make your Samsung Galaxy S10 discoverable:

  1. On the Home screen, swipe down from the top. Make sure that you have the factory Home screen layout. Otherwise, it won’t work. Also, make sure you’re using Standard mode.
  2. Open the Settings app.
  3. Select Connections.
  4. Swipe the slider next to Bluetooth to the right. It should turn blue when you activate it.

After you do this, all the nearby Bluetooth devices should see your S10 on the list of available devices. Make sure that you are using a compatible device, and that Bluetooth is also active on the device in question.

Make S10 Discoverable by Your Car

Taking advice from the previous section into account, you can also connect your S10 to your car, if it is compatible. Here is a general guide:

  1. After enabling Bluetooth on your S10, you can take it with you to your vehicle.
  2. Start the engine on your vehicle, but leave it parked. If your car is moving, likely, you won’t be able to pair it to your S10.
  3. Start the Bluetooth pairing from your car’s display. Check out the link above if you need additional help, or contact your car manufacturer’s support.
  4. Now, select Connections from the Settings menu on your S10, and select Bluetooth.
  5. Choose your car from the list of Available Devices.
  6. Your car should connect automatically. However, there is a chance you’ll need to enter a code displayed in your car. Do that, and it will connect to the S10.
  7. Every subsequent Bluetooth connection between the S10 and your vehicle will be automatic. Also, the phone’s audio will carry over to the surround system in your car.

S10 Bluetooth Fixes

The Bluetooth pairing of the Galaxy S10 is usually on point, but sometimes it misbehaves, for various reasons. There are many simple fixes for this issue, so let’s take a better look:

The simplest solution is to reset the Bluetooth connection. Disable Bluetooth on both your S10 and the other device you are using. Wait for a while, and enable Bluetooth once more. That often solves the problem.

Sometimes the problem may lie in other devices, not the S10. Try pairing another Bluetooth device to your S10. If everything works, the other device is the problem.

Sometimes the Airplane mode can fix the S10 Bluetooth connectivity issues. Open Settings and enable Airplane mode. Then turn it off after a minute or two and enable your Bluetooth.

Make sure to update your S10 regularly. Software updates often solve many issues.

Also, try resetting your S10’s network settings. Open Settings, followed by General management, then Reset and finally Reset Network Settings. Confirm the pop-up window, and your network settings will go back to default.

These were the easiest, quick solutions. There are other, bit more tricky solutions that might help you to enable Bluetooth on your S10 without any issues. Check them out.

Select Other AVRCP

AVRCP means Audio or Video Remote Control Profile. It has to do with Bluetooth, so it is only logical to try this method. Follow the steps to change the AVRCP settings on the S10:

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Find and select Developer Options near the bottom.
  3. Select Bluetooth AVRCP.
  4. Choose a different option for AVRCP (1.4, 1.5, and 1.6) then you are currently using.
  5. Restart your S10.

Clear the Cache

Your device’s cache might be the culprit, as well. Follow the steps to clear it:

  1. Open the Settings app on your S10.
  2. Choose Apps.
  3. Tap on More in the top-right corner (three dots).
  4. Now select Show System Apps, and then Bluetooth.
  5. Choose Force Stop.
  6. Next, select Storage, and then Clear Cache. Tap on it again and select OK.
  7. Finally, restart your S10.

You can also try deleting the cache of individual apps on your S10. Reinstalling the apps that use Bluetooth, such as Spotify, is not a bad idea either. You can also disable any sleeping apps that you have on your phone. These apps may interfere with Bluetooth and other settings. Go to Settings and search Sleeping Apps. Find the app and deselect it.
