eHarmony Keeps Charging Me – How to Contact Their Support

eHarmony is one of the most trusted dating websites out there. However, when it comes to the refund policy, and payment in general, the app’s not that flexible.

You’ve purchased Premium membership and now want to cancel it, but they keep charging you as if you were still an active member. We’ll now show you how to get in touch with their support and solve this issue.

How to Get in Touch with eHarmony Support

Before reaching out to their support team, make sure that you’ve read the FAQ section on the eHarmony website. As we’ll later explain, there are situations when eHarmony doesn’t return your money.

For example, you’ve subscribed for a 6-month membership, two months went by, and you’re not satisfied with this website. You can always cancel your membership, but it doesn’t mean you’ll get a full refund.

However, if you think they’re doing you wrong, you should contact them and explain your situation. We’re sure you’ll manage to find common ground and solve this problem.

Contact Customer Care

If you haven’t deleted your profile on eHarmony, you can use it as the easiest and quickest way to get in touch with their support. Online customer support is available 24/7, and they usually reply very quickly. Most of the requests are solved within 36 hours.

Go to the eHarmony’s website and click on Help. That’ll bring you to the Help Center, where you can opt to Contact Customer Care. When you click on it, the website will ask you to log in with your e-mail and password.

Then, send a message or a question to the support team. Make sure you explain your situation in detail so the team can find the best way to help you. Provide them with all the necessary information to speed up the whole process.

As you’ve probably noticed, eHarmony’s website functions better on desktop than on mobile. That’s why we believe it’d be easier for you to turn on your PC and contact them, instead of going through their mobile website.

Send Them an E-Mail

If you don’t have access to your profile anymore, you can always send them an e-mail. Even if you still have your profile, some people prefer to do this via e-mail. It seems more professional, and you’ll always have proof of your conversation in case that something goes wrong.

Their official e-mail is support@eharmony.com. Don’t forget to write the subject of your mail, because that’s one of the ways they prioritize the e-mails they get.

Although customer support service works 24/7, it usually takes them around 8 hours to reply. It’s normal because they receive tons of messages every day. We advise you to stay calm as your problem will soon get resolved. If you’re really in a hurry, you can mark your e-mail as Urgent.

How to Turn Off Automatic Renewal?

Maybe eHarmony keeps charging you because you’ve forgotten to turn off automatic renewal. If you don’t do that, they could charge you every month even though you’ve stopped using their services. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open your eHarmony account.
  2. Click on Data and Settings.
  3. Click on Amend subscription.

Your subscription will be canceled at the end of the billing period. It means that if you cancel automatic renewal at the beginning of the month, you may still get charged for that month. That’s one of the eHarmony’s rules, so bear that in mind before contacting support.

We have to remind you that when you unsubscribe or turn off automatic renewal, you won’t be able to write custom messages or see the photos of other members. Do it only if you’re entirely sure you won’t need these options anymore.

Good Luck

In some cases, you won’t be able to cancel your subscription immediately. However, we hope that you’ll be able to solve the problem with their support.

What’s your overall experience with eHarmony? Is there anything you’d improve if you had a chance, apart from their refund policy? We’d like to hear in the comments section below.

I signed up for a year of their service yet continued to be charged after the year was up even though I had unsubscribed only months after initially subscribing. This also happened to someone else I know and I thought it was a mistake on there part such that they forgot to uncheck some box in the settings. However, I am sure that I changed all my account setting to being unsubscribed and am now in the same situation.

I contacted eHarmony about this issue and received the same reply that my friend had. They said that they’d make a “special exception” and cancel future payments but they wouldn’t refund what had already been charged. I’m referring to what they charged BEYOND the initial subscription I signed up for. When I asked them why I continued to be charged after cancelling my subscription, they said that they have an AUTOMATIC RENEWAL system in place. I saw no option to opt-out of this renewal when I unsubscribed last summer.

There may be details buried deep in their terms & services, thus protecting them legally, but it is also true that they have developed their settings to give users the false belief that they are unsubscribed when they are not. Then when confronted with the issue, they give a canned response and put the customer last. This was an intentional use of “fine print” to weasel more money out of their customers. I know a lot of companies do this but that doesn’t mean it is right. We should all be fighting for a more just world and not contributing to the corruption.

I was refused a refund (hundreds of dollars) for services I didn’t consent to, at least not knowingly. I also felt as if my concerns were belittled, ignored, and treated with contempt when they ended the email with “Your request has been denied. Thank you for your payment!” I want other users to be warned that subscribing to eHarmony will cost them more than initially agreed upon. If the service is worth that to you, that’s fine. Otherwise, I don’t think that eHarmony can be trusted to treat their customers with respect and care.

After reviewing eHarmony on the Better Business Bureau, I see that this is something that has happened to many others as well. I’d recommend that no one uses this site.

Eharmony is trying to charge me. I tried to cancel many times. Your service was TOTALLY useless. Please do not try to get more money from me. My credit card has already paid you MUCH more than your service was worth.
Richard Turner says:
I did not sign up for this account.
