How to Move a Spotify Playlist to Google Play Music

Many people have decided to switch from Spotify to Google Play Music. Unlike Spotify, Google Music doesn’t have any limit to how many songs you can download. However, if you’ve spent years using Spotify, you’ve probably created many playlists with your favorite songs, and don’t want to do it again.

Well, you don’t have to. Although there’s no direct way to move a Spotify playlist to Google Music, there’s a tool that can help you. In this article, we’ll show you how it’s done.

Use Free Your Music App

Clearly, you weren’t the only one struggling with this issue: many people had a similar problem. Therefore, it’s not surprising that this app became so popular. Free Your Music allows you to transfer songs and playlists from one music platform to another.

Some of the platforms included are Spotify, Google Play Music, Sound Cloud, Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and many more. The app is available both for iOS and Android phones, but there’s also a desktop version. You can download it for free, and there are some in-app purchases, as we’ll later explain.

Step-by-Step Guide

If you’ve downloaded the app, we can begin. The process won’t take more than a few minutes, instead of hours you’d waste if you had to do it manually. Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Selecting the source – You’ll see a list of all music services that are supported. Scroll down until you find Spotify and click on it.
  2. Selecting the destination – You’ll see the list one more time, but this time you have to click on Google Play Music.
  3. Selecting the playlist – Now, select the playlist you want to transfer. (You could also choose a song, or an album, as the process is the same.)
  4. Tap on Confirm.

There you have it! You can start listening to your favorite playlist on Google Play Music, or you can repeat the process for every playlist you want to move. Unfortunately, you can’t move more playlists at the same time.

Pricing Options

If you want to move only one playlist, you can do that for free! The free version of the app allows you to transfer up to 100 songs, and one playlist, no matter how long it may be. On the other hand, you could purchase a premium version, where you can move an unlimited number of songs and playlists.

When it comes to price, there are two options. You can purchase the app with a one-time payment of $9.89. Alternatively, you can subscribe to the app for a monthly fee of only $1.66. The best thing about this option is that you can cancel it anytime.

Whatever option you choose, you’ll always have the latest version of the app, as it’s continuously updated. What’s more, there have been rumors about some fantastic options on the horizon, such as being able to share your playlists with other users.

Can I Get a Refund?

There shouldn’t be any issues with the app, but in case you don’t like it, you can get a refund. Bear in mind that you will only receive a refund up to three days after your purchase. Therefore, you should try out the app as soon as you download it to make sure it works for you.

Is This the Same App as Stamp App?

If you were transferring music back in 2015, you might recognize Free Your Music as the Stamp app. In fact, Free Your Music was developed from the Stamp app, but there’s a huge difference between the two.

While the Stamp app was limited only to Apple Music for a long time, the new version allows you to connect with more than 20 music services. That’s not all, as the latest version is many times faster and provides a much better user experience. Also, it features an improved design, according to the latest standards.

If you happen to have the old Stamp version on your phone, it’d be best to uninstall it and then download the new version. They’re not compatible anymore; in other words, you can’t update Stamp and then transform it into Free Your Music. Rather, you have to download Free Your Music as a new app.

It’s All About Adaptability

Spotify has been a major music service for years, but we now have some even better options. Google Play Music is fantastic, but who knows whether it’s here to stay? With the tech world changing so quickly, it’s anyone’s guess as to what might happen next.

Why did you switch from Spotify to Google Music? What’s your favorite music service? Let us know in the comments section below.
