It was one of the fastest motherboards we’ve tested when it comes to CPU and memory performance, and it also performed very well in our gaming and storage tests. The only potential downside to the TUF Gaming Z590-Plus WIFI is its price. This motherboard is packed with an impressive set of features, including dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, a massive 16+4 phase power delivery system, an Intel Wi-Fi 6E module, and much more. It’s also one of the most expensive X570 motherboards on the market, so it had better be good!
The Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero uses a black and gray color scheme that is reminiscent of other ROG products. The motherboard has a large heatsink that covers the VRM area and extends over the PCIe 4.0 x16 slots. There is also an ROG logo on the chipset heatsink.
The I/O panel features four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort, a LAN port, and audio jacks.

We tested the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero in our test lab using an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X processor and 16 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory. We also installed an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card for testing.
The Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero performed well in our tests. It had no trouble handling our CPU and memory overclocks. The motherboard also performed well in our gaming and benchmark tests. We were impressed with the performance of the Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero overall. It’s one of the most expensive X570 motherboards on the market, but it delivers the goods. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line X570 motherboard, the Crosshair VIII Dark Hero is worth considering.
