Great Alternatives to 10 Minute Mail

10 Minute Mail fits its niche perfectly: It provides a randomized email address that lasts for precisely 10 minutes. That’s it.

But sometimes, you need a little more functionality, such as the ability to have access to a disposable email address for more than 10 minutes. Or perhaps you need your email address to be memorable so you can give it out to people.

Thankfully, given the rise in security consciousness of the average web user, the supply of secure communications solutions has risen dramatically.

Why use a temporary email address?

Many websites require login information and many transactions require an email address to verify your identity. If you don’t want to use your real email for these, a temporary email address is ideal. It’s more convenient and ensures your privacy.

Temporary email addresses are also useful to avoid the inevitable barrage of marketing emails and spam you receive when signing up to special offers or when getting an insurance quote online. Using a disposable email address will avoid all of that.

Finally, a temporary email address will securely delete all emails received when the address expires. So you do not have to worry about other people getting access to your emails.

What to look for in a temporary email address?

When you are looking for an alternative to 10 Minute Mail, you’ll want to look for the following features:

  • An active website. Many temporary email address generators are no longer operational, so make sure they work before you use them for something vital.
  • The ability to generate your own email address. Most of the alternatives listed below give you two options: either choose an email address the website suggests, or create your own.
  • A dedicated email address. Some options you’ll find let anyone access the email address you generate. If you send sensitive email to the inbox, it could be opened by someone you do not want to have access to your information.

Below, you’ll find a list of 10 current alternatives to 10 Minute Mail.

Mailinator

Mailinator has been around for years and is a very reliable temporary email address provider. The website is easy to use, and you can set an address up in less than a minute. The email address suggestion aspect is very useful if you cannot think of a suitable one yourself.

To use a single email address for your own use is free, and Mailinator offers multiple inboxes with unique email addresses. Should you need email testing options or enterprise level volumes of email addresses or storage, those are available too, but at a cost.

MailDrop

MailDrop is very similar to Mailinator, and it gets you up and running in just a few seconds. It also offers total freedom in deciding your email address, or you can use one of the addresses suggested for you. It uses the @maildrop.cc domain for all addresses, which most online web forms will accept. MailDrop is completely free and open source.

Guerrilla Mail

Guerrilla Mail may have a website straight from the 1990s, but it certainly works well. It is one of the oldest temporary email address providers around – and you can get an email ending in @sharklasers.com!

Unlike 10 Minute Mail, Guerrilla Mail provides a fake inbox that remains live as long as your session remains open. It also provides suggestions for addresses as well as a few domain alternatives, should you – for some unknown reason– not want to use sharklasers.

Fake Mail Generator

Fake Mail Generator is a bare-bones temporary email address generator that does exactly what it says on the label. You can create a random email with a number of domain names if you don’t like the one it automatically generates when you land on the page. The site does nothing else.

Getairmail

Getairmail is another super-simple site that generates a random email address. Hit Get Temporary Email in the center to be taken to a randomly generated inbox. From here, you can change your email address as you like, including ones with pretty cool domain names like @vomoto.com.

It’s easy to use, although the first part of the address will likely need changing as it is generated from random letters. Aside from that, you’re good to go immediately.

Dispostable

Dispostable isn’t much to look at, but it gets the job done. It also allows you to create your own email address as long as it ends with @dispostable.com. It doesn’t suggest names anymore though, as the generator is broken.

Email addresses can be generated quickly and last for three days. Just enter your address of choice at the top and hit “Check inbox.” That’s it.

TempMail

TempMail is another simple temporary email address that works right out of the box. It automatically generates a fake email address. You are presented with the inbox associated with that address right away. The left menu allows you to copy the email address for use, refresh the inbox, change the address or delete it.

Changing the email address is useful, but not very intuitive. Click “Change” and you will be asked for a login. This is the first part of your new fake email address. Add anything in here, select the domain, and hit “Save.” The email address at the top will then change to reflect that.

Bouncr

Bouncr is a little different than the rest. You sign up with your real email address, and it sends you an email. Using the link in the email, you can check, edit or delete your new temporary email address.

Those are just eight of the many alternatives to 10 Minute Mail. All work well, all contain email addresses that are not blacklisted by web forms, and all also allow you to create your own. Next time you’re filling in your own email address, think twice and save yourself a hundred marketing emails. Use one of the temporary mailboxes above.

I am making a document and need to put this email

Good list, the problem is that most of those don’t work on services like facebook. You should also include the lesser known ones that are still out of the blacklists.
