VLC on Firestick doesn’t seem to play tracks in the right order when using with upnp. This makes it useless as far as I’m concerned.
Doug says:
VLC for FireTV is buggy as hell and none of the bugs reported a year ago have been fixed (as of November 2021). It tries to quit playing every 20 minutes… the inactivity time-out for FireTV devices… quite a few other issues also.

No network access using MX-PLAYER – what’s the point of installing it?
Richard says:
The big difference between VLC and MX is that VLC can stream from an NFS or SMB share without needing to root the device.

MX does not seem to have that functionality, and that’s disappointing, as I was looking forward to trying it.

vlc plays ok but does not show a full screen, gap at the top and the bottom, like cinemascreen, and mx has a little 1/2 second pause every 30 seconds or so, looking to try another player, i am using a new firestick 4k
