It’s slightly on the heavier side, so if you’re looking for a stable trackball – it’s a perfect fit. Logitech MX Ergo is great for office work. The ergonomic design successfully prevents carpal tunnel syndrome, which is crucial for those long working hours. You can significantly ease the strain on your wrist by adjusting the tilt plate to the optimal 20 degrees. Due to the trackball’s stainless-steel build, it’s better suited for this type of use. The optical sensor performs well with reduced movement, as opposed to the more chaotic gaming controls.
You also don’t have to worry about any connectivity issues – the Logitech trackball is flawless in that department. There are two types of connections available: the standard wireless adapter and Bluetooth. You’re free to pick whichever works better with your device.

Apart from the prominent scroll wheel, Logitech Ergo M575 also has left-right clicks and forward/back buttons. Compared to the MX installment, the controls are much more receptive, so it performs well with gaming. You can carry it around with ease since the components are not as heavy. Of course, the ergonomic design is nothing short of perfect, even if you can’t adjust the tilt.
The trackball is compatible with both Windows PC and Mac, making it one of the more versatile devices. Much like the MX version, the wireless performance is impressive, with a range of a whopping 33 feet. You can also choose to connect via Bluetooth or through a USB receiver.
There’s only one slight inconvenience to the otherwise fantastic product – it runs on the Logitech Control Centre software. The older version of the interface doesn’t support any Logitech Options features but, luckily, sports many of the same tools.

Kensington is the other major issuer of trackball mice. Their Expert Wireless model represents the peak of ergonomic design. The device was specifically created to alleviate strain from the wrists and provide a more natural position. Thanks to the adjustable armrest, you can work out what the most comfortable position is for you.
When it comes to navigation control, the mouse is pretty responsive. The giant red trackball takes center stage, while the other four buttons encompass it. Expert Wireless has an impressive battery life of almost a whole year. To unlock this incredible power, you need to acquire two AA batteries. Jokes aside, it’s one of the more durable trackball mice on the market. It’s also one of the heaviest, weighing in at a whopping 463 grams. Once you set it to the desired position, it pretty much won’t budge, providing maximum comfort at all times.

With the Deft Pro Finger-Operated Trackball Mouse, Elecom issued a new and improved version of the Microsoft Trackball Explorer. And that’s a huge compliment, given how popular the device was before discontinuation.
The design may puzzle you at first, but once you get used to it, you’ll find it extremely practical. Of course, if you’re already familiar with Elecom products, you’ll adjust even more quicker. The crimson trackball is placed between the right click and left click, with two additional buttons on the right-hand side. There are some extra commands on the left-hand side, including a scrolling wheel. Deft Pro lives up to its name since all the keys are incredibly responsive. With a 1500 DPI sensor, the trackball performs well with both office work and gaming.
Much like other high-quality devices, it offers you a choice between the standard wireless adapter and Bluetooth. The dongle works seamlessly, while the Bluetooth connection can sometimes experience brief lagging. It also has impressive battery life. You can use it continuously for a significant part of the year with a single AA battery.

This might seem like a blast from the past, but Kensington’s Orbit Trackball Mouse is still going strong. Even though it’s been around since the 2010s, it still ranks high in the “Best Seller” category. If you’re on the hunt for a more affordable device with a solid build and all the essential features, this is the right pick for you.
Kensington’s Orbit Trackball Mouse is pretty wide with a highly ergonomic design. Your thumb and pinky naturally fall to the side, controlling the left-click/right-click, while the three middle fingers are positioned over the trackball. Any strain is removed from the hand, thanks to the carefully placed wrist rest. This layout is meant to improve your posture and prevent your neck, shoulders, and arms from cramping.
The navy blue trackball in the middle of the mouse absolutely steals the spotlight. It’s strategically placed between the right and left buttons for optimal comfort. Like with other Kensington devices, there’s a scroll ring circled around the trackball. One could argue it’s the most functional design from the bunch, even without the inclusion of extra keys.
Being an older model, it’s not surprising there’s no built-in wireless dongle. However, that doesn’t make it any less productive. If what you look for in a trackball mouse is simplicity, comfort, and accessibility – this is a great pick for you. After all, it’s one of the few devices that stood the test of time.
