How to Cancel Disney Plus Subscription

You subscribed to Disney Plus and gave it a good test drive during the 7-day free trial, but you decided that you don’t like it and you would now like to unsubscribe.

There are many reasons to want to unsubscribe. Maybe you aren’t satisfied with the available content. You have binge-watched all of the Marvel movies, and all seasons of The Simpsons already. Maybe it’s because the streaming service is glitchy and lacks some of the crucial features.

Whatever the case may be, Disney Plus made unsubscribing easy. Keep reading to find out how.

First Things First

If you haven’t yet tried out Disney Plus, you’ll want to make sure you take advantage of that free trial. Start by signing up here for a free week trial, or get your favorite movies, shows, and sports for one low price by bundling Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus right here!

After you sign up, read on to make sure you unsubscribe to cancel your account before you’re charged!

How to Unsubscribe

Here’s how to unsubscribe from Disney Plus. Follow these steps:

  1. Open your Disney Plus Account.
  2. Find your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen and click or tap on the icon.
  3. A drop-down menu will appear. Press Account.
  4. Click or tap on Billing Details. This will open your subscription page.
  5. Find the Cancel Subscription link and click or tap on it. It should be on the right side of the page. Confirmation page will pop-up.
  6. Click or tap on Complete Cancellation.

This will end your subscription and stop Disney Plus from charging your credit card. However, you will still have access to the streaming service until your 7-day trial period ends or, if you have already paid for the service, until the next billing date.

Disney Plus Alternatives

Now that you have your subscription to Disney Plus canceled, you might want to find some other streaming platform that will actually have the content and the features you need. Here are the best streaming services out there.

1.      Netflix

Netflix is among the biggest if not the biggest streaming service out there, with over 1,500 TV shows and 4,000 movies. You can create up to 5 different profiles, each with its own watch list, so you can share your account with your family and friends.

Besides the countless new and classic TV shows and movies, Netflix has its own original content. This content includes series like Daredevil, House of Cards, Peaky Blinders, and Stranger Things. The most popular documentaries include Our Planet, Making a Murderer, and Cooked.

Anime fans can binge One-Punch Man and Death Note, while comedy buffs have series like The Ranch at their disposal. Of course, movies such as The Highwaymen, Rim of the World, and High Seas are also on the roster.

You can stream Netflix on virtually any device and you can choose from Basic, Standard, and Premium plans that cost from $9 to $16 a month.

2.      Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime is not just an excellent streaming service with over 18,000 movies and almost 2,000 TV shows, because it also gives members the benefits of free and fast shipping and exclusive shopping.

Amazon Prime features comedy shows like Good Omens, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, and Cheers. Popular dramas shows include The Wire and Hannibal. Fantasy shows like Doctor Who and Vikings are also available.

The shopping and shipping benefits are so numerous that it would be impossible to list here, but they’re definitely worth the subscription. Amazon Prime’s annual subscription fee is $119 while monthly fee is $13. That being said, first 30 days are free with a yearly subscription.

3.      HBO Now

HBO Now gives you access to everything HBO offers, and that includes all of the original and licensed TV shows, movies, sports content, and documentaries. The streaming service is available on pretty much any device.

HBO Now offers movies like Leaving Neverland, Deadwood, The Tale, and Darkman. TV shows such as Game of Thrones, Westworld and the Sopranos are also on the list. With $15 a month, it is not the cheapest streaming service of the bunch, but the content it offers is well worth the additional price.

4.      Hulu

Hulu is mainly focused on streaming TV shows, and it offers plenty of original content. The streaming service allows users early access to popular shows from a wide variety of networks. You can stream it to almost any device and even watch your favorite TV shows offline. Many other services seem to lack offline mode.

Hulu has many subscription plans and they go from Basic with the price of $6 per month to Premium + Live TV that costs $51. Hulu is a bit different than most other streaming services, but it is your best pick if you want to watch the newest shows as soon as possible.

Many Options to Choose from

Even if you didn’t get what you expected from Disney Plus, there are still many of other streaming services that can give you what you need. Pick your favorite and start binging right away.

Any advice on how to cancel if I don’t have a “cancel subscription” button at all? Currently on the waitlist to be called by the company but have no timeline for that.

Well, this is another good reason why I want to cancel. I wanted to see my usage and change the settings and I can’t until I have a smart phone, which I don’t, and now I find I can’t even cancel here on my computer. WTH??? And apparently you can’t get hold of them by phone? SO HOW DO WE CANCEL?????
