How to Disable the Screenshots’ Thumbnail Preview at the Bottom Left
The newest iOS 11 version on iPhone and iPad devices has a slightly different way when using the screenshot feature. In this version, taking a screenshot of your desired image is the same as the way you are taking screenshots on the lower version, however, the only thing that is different is that the iOS 11 has a thumbnail preview that appears on the lower left bottom of the screen right after you take the screenshot.
The thumbnail preview is somehow convenient to other users but for some, they find this as an obstructive feature especially if they don’t like on checking up on it or doesn’t like to edit or maybe share right away the screenshot image. If you belong to the latter group then it is disappointing to know that the Apple failed to include on their system a toggle switch for the thumbnail screenshot.
Let’s just all hope that the Apple will update their iOS 11 version to have a toggle switch on and off for the thumbnail screenshot. But until then, the only way to disable the feature is listed below.
Disabling Thumbnail Preview for Screenshots
- Take a screenshot of the image you would like to save on your iOS (by pressing simultaneously the Power button and the Home button, except for the iPhone X, or using the Assistive Touch)
- After the screenshot, you will notice that the image preview will appear at the lower left part of your screen
- You may ignore the thumbnail preview that will disappear after a few seconds
- Or you may just swipe the thumbnail preview to the left to instantly dismiss the image
You may repeat on swiping the thumbnail image to the left as many times as you need in order to dismiss the image. If you take many screenshots continuously, the preview image will all appear at the lower left corner of the screen, fortunately, you can swipe it as well to the left all at once in order to dismiss it.
For now, the above method mentioned is the only way to hide or dismiss the thumbnail preview on your iOS 11 using your iPhone or iPad devices. If there’s another way you know how to block or deactivate perhaps the thumbnail preview please let us know by commenting on the form seen below.
