All LG V20 devices have emergency weather alerts and notifications just like other smartphones. But many have suggested the LG’s alerts are the loudest and most annoying of them all. The LG V20 has four kinds of alerts. Presidential, Extreme, Severe, and AMBER alerts. All of them but one can be disabled, just follow the instructions below to turn them off.
How to Turn Off Emergency Weather Alerts on the LG V20
The way that you can control the emergency and weather alerts on the LG V20 is by going to the text messaging application called “Messaging”. Once you get to the Messaging app, follow these steps:
- Select the three dots in the top right corner, which is the menu button.
- Go to Settings.
- Browse and select Emergency Alerts.
- Uncheck the boxes that you don’t want to get alerts from.
If you want to turn the alerts back ON, just follow the instructions above and recheck the boxes you want to get alerts and notifications from. All of the alerts can be turned off expect for the presidential alerts. You’ve now successfully disabled any of those alerts that were keeping you awake at night, or going off at the wrong time on your LG V20.
