How To Enable Wi-Fi Sharing On Samsung Galaxy S8 And S8 Plus
In the past, Android tethering options were limited to tethering via USB and tethering via mobile data. However, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus now allow you to play with both the Wi-Fi connection and the tethering option (to turn your smartphone into a mobile hotspot), so that you can share with other devices through a Wi-Fi network.
This feature is useful when you need to gain access to Wi-Fi connection through your Samsung device and can be useful when you need to get your Wi-Fi to reach further distances. Sharing your Wi-Fi becomes more accessible than ever before, so you could start by taking advantage of that on your Galaxy S8, or Galaxy S8 with Wi-Fi sharing enabled.
This feature is perfect if connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to share it with other device but you can’t remember the network password. Read the guide below to find out how to enable Galaxy S8 Wi-Fi sharing.
How to Enable Wifi Sharing on Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus:
- Open the Settings menu of your smartphone
- Under Mobile Hotspot and Tethering navigate to MORE
- Tap on the Wi-Fi sharing option to enable it
Your fantastic device then acts as a Wifi extender or repeater. You can directly share a Wifi signal with another device, laptop or even a tablet. Other smartphones only share a connection using Wifi tethering.
This feature is only available on Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus for now. The company may decide to include it in future software updates, but we can’t guarantee you. However, some owners have also reported that this feature does not work on the Verizon version.
