Fix “Font Not Compatible” Error On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus
If you enjoy experiencing with fonts and never ignore the chance to personalize the look and feel of your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, you probably know by now about the TouchWiz feature that lets you easily change the system fonts.
As a new functionality on Samsung’s latest flagships, you can always have fun with it. And if you take that extra mile and download some cool new fonts from the Play Store or from the Galaxy Apps store, you’re guaranteed to have some fun.
But what do you do when you get the “Fonts not compatible” error? You probably tried to uninstall the font and install it back, with no success. To kill the suspense, it’s not an error, it’s a blockage message.
Samsung intentionally disabled the compatibility with any other font outside of Flip Fonts. Consequently, while you have a myriad of options available for download on the Google Play Store, you won’t be able to use anything other than the FlipFonts.
Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, if your favorite font is giving you the “Fonts not compatible” error, you cannot really control it. The only option would be to look for the most resembling FlipFont alternative to your old, favorite font and use that one instead.
Sure, the FlipFont collection is not that small and it has the advantage of offering a lot of free fonts, but most of them come with a fee. And even though Samsung did this following some font piracy and licensing issues, users still aren’t very happy neither with the change nor with the fact that nobody officially announced this change on Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus.
