Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus: Fix Icons Missing From App Launcher
In theory, the App Launcher is where you should have all the icons of all the apps you have ever installed on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus. In practice, some users complained that some of their apps icons simply disappeared from the Apps Launcher.
Have you checked your Google Play Store – where you can see all the third-party apps downloaded from there – and the Application Manager and you saw a particular app listed in there but you just can’t find it on your App Launcher? Most likely, this is a problem with the TouchWiz Launcher that requires clearing the TouchWiz Home data.
While this has been reported to fix the icons missing from your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus App Launcher, it has the downside that it will act as a reset of the Home screen.
This means that whatever settings you have previously tweaked and however you have arranged your icons on the Home screen, it will be completely changed and brought back to the default settings.
Long story short, after you clear the data from your TouchWiz Home, you will need to rearrange everything back manually.
To fix the missing apps…
- Go to the Home screen;
- Tap on Apps;
- Open the Settings menu;
- Tap on Applications;
- Select the Application Manager;
- Tap on the MORE button from the upper-right corner;
- Select the Show System Apps option;
- Scroll down until you find the TouchWiz Home;
- Tap on it;
- Select Storage;
- Hit the Clear Data button.
After you leave these menus and you head back to the App Launcher, you should be able to see the icons that were previously missing from there.
