Galaxy S9: How To Delete Pre-Installed Apps

As you notice, if you buy a Samsung Galaxy S9, there are actually apps already installed on your smartphone. Other users do not find these to be useful, but they do not really know how to delete it. These apps are called bloatware – pre-installed apps put together on your phone before you buy it. Actually, they do not use a lot of space on your phone and maybe you just want to erase them according to your choice.

Some bloatware like Play Store, Google+, Gmail, etc., can be easily deleted from your Samsung Galaxy S9. However, there are some other apps that cannot. Like S Health or S Voice, you cannot actually take this on your Samsung Galaxy S9.

Although this bloatware could not be deleted, you can still disable it. If you disable one of them, still it is stored on your device.

Disabling or Deleting Bloatware on Galaxy S9

Here are the steps to Delete or Disable your Bloatware(pre-installed apps):

  1. Go to your Settings
  2. Select Apps
  3. Scroll down to find the app your want to remove and select it
  4. Choose Uninstall
  5. If the uninstall option isn’t available, choose Disable
  6. Disabling the app will remove it from your app screen and turn off any automatic updates
  7. The basic app will still exist in storage, but take up very little space
  8. Apps without an uninstall option cannot be removed because of manufacturer or carrier restrictions

All of these steps mentioned should be followed in order to delete properly the pre-installed apps which you do not want for your Samsung Galaxy S9.
