How to Add Sports Extra to Sling TV
Adding extras to Sling is part of the fun, and the system is among the most intuitive on the market. After all, the costs per month of each added channel are shown in the app and on the Sling website. However, if you’re having problems with adding stuff to your Sling, you’re at the right place. So, here is how you subscribe to Sports Extra safely.
Adding Sports Extra to Sling
First, you have to decide if you want to add Sports Extra through the Sling website or the Sling app. You will need to sign in using your email address and password.
Once you have signed in, you need to find the “Change Subscription” button. You will find it under the setting called “My Account.” Press the blue “Change Subscription” button.
You will land on the “Edit Your Subscription” page. There is a check/tick mark sat beside your base service. Now, look for the option called “Extras.”
On the list of extras, you will see a service called “Sports Extra.” Next to it, you will see the “Add+” button. Tap on that button to start your subscription.
Review Your Changes
Now that you have subscribed, you need to scroll to the bottom of the page. You will see a function named “Review.” Once you click/tap this button, the site will redirect you to a screen that summarizes your current account.
It will show you your current subscription cost, along with any extras that you have already added. It will show you that you have subscribed to “Sports Extra” and will show you your new monthly billing amount. If you are happy with what you see, press/tap the “Submit Order” button. Your subscription is complete.
Your next bill will be slightly less than what you saw on the review page. However, the month after that, your bill amount will be the same as whatever you saw on the review page.
How Do You Pay for Sling?
You already have a payment process set up that removes a certain amount from your bank account at regular intervals.
When you tap the Add+ button, your payment is processed automatically. The Sports Extras fee will be added to your current subscription amount. If you decide that you do not want the subscription, then you untick/uncheck the Sports Extras subscription. The payment will run for another month, and then it will stop showing on your account.
The Payment Is Still Showing After Cancellation
It works like this, you are billed monthly, but the first month features pro-rates because it is unlikely you are starting it on renewal day (the first day of the billing period). After that, each month, you are charged the same amount.
Even if you canceled on the 3rd of the month, and your renewal date is on the 1st, you will still have to pay for the time between the 3rd and the 1st. Plus, in some cases, you may also have to pay a month in advance. So, here is what you do.
Let’s say you cancel in February. The charge appears on your March bill. If it appears on your April bill, then there is probably a problem. At this point, you should double-check to see if you canceled in the first place. You should also check to see if the channel is still running. If you can still access it, then you probably haven’t unsubscribed.
Let’s say that you’ve received your bill in April, and there is still a charge on your account. However, you are sure you have unsubscribed, and you cannot access the channel in question. That’s when you need to contact customer support.
Tell them about you canceling, unsubscribing, and how you cannot access the channel. Tell them to make sure your subscription to Sports Extra is over, and try asking them for the additional money back that you believe you paid through no fault of your own.
It Is Not as Complicated as It Seems
As you’ve seen, adding the Sports Extra package is a piece of cake. The only potentially confusing part is the billing. Keep in mind that your first month will probably feature pro-rates, while all subsequent months will feature regular ones.
