How to Delete a Property in Google Analytics

For marketers, Google Analytics is the go-to tool for tracking visitors and website performance and collecting visitor insights. Sometimes, you might accidentally create a property or no longer need to track a website’s traffic stats. In that case, it is best to delete the property in Google Analytics.

What to Know Before Deleting a Property in Google Analytics

First, ensure you have an editor or administrator role for the property you wish to delete. This is essential if someone has assigned you a role in a Google Analytics property. If you are the owner, you don’t need to worry about the permission.

When you delete a property in Google Analytics, it is moved to the trash can. It is permanently deleted from the bin after 35 days. Google cannot retrieve any associated data once a site is gone from the trash.

However, you can restore a site from the trash within 35 days of deleting it.
