How To Fix LG G7 That Won’t Turn On After Charging
Owning the latest G7 flagship smartphone doesn’t make one immune to charging issues. There have been issues surfacing that the G7 won’t turn on even when the device is fully charged. We list down ways on how to deal with this problem and share it below.
Hit the Power button
Before we proceed with the ways to fix the G7 not turning on after charging we should first test the “Power” button to see if this is working properly. This issue may be due to a simple malfunction of the “Power” button so best if we can rule this out before we proceed with the rest of our instructions.
Boot to Recovery Mode and Wipe Cache Partition
These are the steps on how to get your G7 into Recovery Mode
- Press and hold the Volume Up, Power and Home buttons simultaneously.
- Wait for the device to vibrate, when it does release the Power button while still pressing down on the two other buttons until the Android System Recovery screen pops up
- Use your “Volume Down” button to highlight the “wipe cache partition” and Tap the Power button to choose it
- When you are done with clearing the cache partition, the G7 will reboot automatically.
Boot to Safe Mode
Another great tip on how to solve this issue is to get your device to boot into Safe Mode. When your G7 enters into Safe Mode your device will only run on built-in apps. This will give you the chance to check whether another application is the root of the problem. Follow the steps below to get your device into Safe Mode:
- Tap and hold on the Power button simultaneously
- Wait for the LG screen to appear, release the Power button then Tap and hold on the Volume down button
- Your device will restart, the Safe Mode notification will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen
If none of the steps we shared with you worked, we then recommend that you get Technical Support. Proceed to take your G7 to your retailer where it can be diagnosed by a Professional. If a defect is found, you can then have it repaired or claim a warranty if your G7 is still covered.
