Elmo Calls gives your child the excitement of a “live” FaceTime call with Sesame Street’s Elmo (or “Melmo” as my toddler calls him…). Kids or parents can choose from a number of pre-recorded video calls (with more available via in-app purchase). The phone will then ring, with Elmo waiting on the other end once your child presses Answer. The calls are relatively short, but topics include singing the ABCs, celebrating holidays and birthdays, and visiting special locations like farms (complete with dancing cows!). The app utilizes the iPhone’s built-in camera to put your child’s face on the screen, just like a real FaceTime call. Sesame Street also makes a similar app for Cookie Monster fans.
