For those that want to know what the eye icon means in the Galaxy S5 status bar, the eye symbol means that Smart Stay is activated, which is a feature that can illuminate the display as long as you look at it.
The Galaxy S5 eye tracking symbol appears at regular intervals and then disappears again. What this means is that when the eye icon is activate and on the status appear, it tells you that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is checking to see if you’re watching the screen or not. This works with the front camera of the Galaxy S5 and checks for simple patterns, whether you’re still watching the screen to activate the Smart Stay feature.

- Turn on the Galaxy S5
- Go to Menu
- Select on Settings
- Select on Display
