How to Set Pixel 3 to Vibrate

Pixel 3 isn’t the latest Google mobile device. However, it’s an excellent choice for those who enjoy a high-quality smartphone with many convenient options.

Before moving on to the more complex things your Pixel 3 can do, make sure the basic configuration is set up properly. Like sound and volume, for instance. Do you prefer your phone on silent, on vibration, or do you like to hear your ringtone? Keep reading this article to find out how to adjust these settings.

Sound and Vibrate Settings on Pixel 3

Depending on the situation, you might want to set your phone’s volume to quieter or louder.

If you want to set your Pixel 3 to vibrate, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate a volume button on your phone and press it.
  2. An icon will show up on the right side of the screen, above the slider.
  3. Tap the icon until you see Vibrate on the screen.

The same steps will mute your phone or set it to ring when you no longer want to keep it on Vibrate.

If you haven’t already enabled the Vibrate option and your phone starts ringing, you can stop it. Just press a volume button to mute the sound.

Another way to set your Pixel 3 phone to vibration is by accessing sound settings. Follow the instructions below:

  1. From your Home screen, go to Settings.
  2. Find the Sound section and tap to open.
  3. Slide the toggle on the Ring volume slider to the left.
  4. A small Vibrate icon will appear, and your phone will be set to vibration only.

Are Your Calls Vibrating First?

As of 2019, Pixel devices have this new convenient option. It allows you to react before your phone starts ringing in case you accidentally left it on Ring. This is how you can access this option:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Pixel 3 phone.
  2. Scroll to the Sound section and tap to open.
  3. Select the Vibrate for calls button.
  4. You’ll see the following options: Never vibrate, Always vibrate, and Vibrate first, then ring gradually.
  5. Select the last option to enable it.

Now, when someone calls you, your phone won’t start ringing immediately. It will vibrate first, before the tone sounds, gradually increasing up to full volume until you receive the call or the caller gives up.

You have around five seconds until the phone starts ringing. And even when it does, it won’t reach the maximum volume if you’ve previously set the volume level lower than that.

If you choose Always vibrate, your phone will vibrate for any incoming call. You can turn off the vibration by selecting the Never vibrate option.

How to Manage Sounds on Your Pixel 3

The Sound section allows you to manage other features related to calls, alarms, and more.

You can adjust the media volume. This option refers to the videos you play on your phone or within apps, voice messages you receive, etc. If you want to adjust the call volume, you’ll see a separate slider below. You can move the toggle on the third one – the Ring volume slider – to change the ringing volume. The last slider adjusts the alarm volume.

The Do Not Disturb Tab

This handy feature silences all the distractions that might prevent you from being productive. Not only does it mute the sounds on your phone, but it also blocks vibrations and even visual disturbances.

When you open the Do Not Disturb tab, navigate to Behavior to choose what you want to block. You’ll see the following options: Sound & vibration and Notifications. The first one disables alarms, touch sounds, and media sounds. If you select the second option, you’ll prevent notification sounds and visuals from disturbing you.

You can opt to customize the feature and decide what will happen when your screen is on or off. For example, you can enable or disable your screen blinking when you receive a notification. Be aware that security notifications will show regardless of your settings.

The Do Not Disturb feature can have time limits. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Go to Settings and navigate to Sounds.
  2. Choose Do Not Disturb.
  3. Select Duration.
  4. Choose one of the following options:
  5. Until you turn it off (you’ll need to disable it manually).
  6. Set a specific time (for one hour, five hours, etc.).
  7. Ask every time.

The Quiet Time

We all want some quiet time without having our phones ringing non-stop. For some of us, we put our phones on silent so often, we forget what our ringtones sound like.

Setting your Pixel 3 phone to vibrate is very simple. Moreover, you have plenty of convenient features that prevent your phone from disturbing you when you have work to do.
