Setting Up Text Message Forwarding On iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus
Text Message Forwarding feature is one of the newest and the most asked feature of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. What Text Message Forwarding does is it mirrors text messages sent to your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus in the Messages app on the Mac or iPad.
Take note that Text Message Forwarding only works if you use the same Apple ID on both devices for Text Message Forwarding to work properly; so your FaceTime must be signed in with your Apple ID.
You can use Text Message Forwarding by adding an email address to iMessage and use FaceTime with your Apple ID/iCloud, the following will help for those who can’t activate iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Text Message Forwarding.
How to Enable Text Message Forwarding on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus:
- Turn on your phone
- Go to the iPhone’s Settings
- Go to Messages
- Go to Send & Receive
- Select “Use your Apple ID for iMessage”
- Enter your Apple ID user name and password
- Then iOS allows you to enable iMessage with an email associated with your Apple ID, in addition to your phone number
- Choose an email address
- Enable it
- Choose Next
- Go back to iMessage settings
- Select Text Message Forwarding
- Messages on the Mac or iPad opens automatically and creates a one-time verification code
- Input this code into your iPhone
Follow the same steps to enable Text Message Forwarding on your other Apple devices. Bluetooth is not required for Text Message Forwarding and your devices don’t need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
