Solve Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus Music Streaming Pausing Or Stopping Error

Playing music is something that most Samsung Galaxy S8 users enjoy doing on their smartphones. And just like on any other device, music streaming is a pretty straightforward process that shouldn’t raise too many questions or problems.

Nevertheless, some people deal with music streaming sudden stops, pauses or even errors. Definitely a very unpleasant thing, though not necessarily uncommon. The most annoying part, aside from the fact that it can stop right in the middle of a song you love listening to, is that it usually requires unlocking the screen of the phone to make it work once again.

Causes can be various and not all of them will directly relate to the streaming app itself. This is precisely why you should consider fixing the error instead of just giving up on streaming music. Sooner or later, other errors may trigger and why not prevent while you still can?

To solve the music streaming pausing and stopping error on Galaxy S8…

Check the power saving settings

If the Power saving mode is turned on, it could interfere and block your music streaming app as soon as it detects that the screen is locked. Go to Settings and, under the Battery menu, identify the Power Saving Mode to make sure it is set to Off.

If you enjoy the Power saving mode benefits, the alternative would be to set it to activate only when you’re running on low battery, and not with the Immediately feature.

Another interesting setting you can check within the Power Saving menu will have to do with the background data. You should have an option labeled as “Restrict background data” which, if turned off, will also block this mode from causing your music app to stop.

Last but not least, you should tap on Details, right under the App power saving, and select in there the music app that you are using. Once you tap on it, select Disable.

Check the internet connection

Your music streaming app needs an internet connection. But this connection mighty automatically block when you are locking the screen, in which case, you need to verify the Wi-Fi settings.

Go back to the general Settings of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and this time, tap on Wi-Fi. Hit the MORE menu from the top right and identify the option labeled as “Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep”. Tap on it and select the option Always.

Now that you know neither the Power Saving features nor the Internet connection will bug you anymore, if you still can’t properly listen to music, consider the following suggestion.

Wipe the system cache directory

  1. Turn off the device;
  2. Simultaneously press and hold the Volume Up, the Home, and the Power buttons;
  3. Let go of the Power key when you see the Samsung Galaxy S8 logo on the screen;
  4. Let go of the other keys when you see the Android logo on the screen;
  5. Now that you have entered the Recovery Mode, wait for 30 to 60 seconds;
  6. Then you can start navigating through the menus, with the Volume Down key;
  7. Select Wipe Cache Partition;
  8. Hit the Power button to initiate it;
  9. Select Yes;
  10. Hit the Power button to start the wipe cache action;
  11. When it finishes, select the Reboot System Now option;
  12. Hit the Power button to reboot the device and turn back to the normal running mode.

After you have wiped the system cache, the Samsung Galaxy S8 should play music without problems. Just assuming this isn’t exactly the case, you can still try a hard reset. Transfer all your files to the microSD, if you have one, and do a general backup with your Samsung account.

Follow to learn the steps one by one and factory reset the phone. It really is easier than it looks from a distance!
