The Top Dubsmash Videos [January 2020]
Since its debut in 2014, Dubsmash has been one of the most popular video-messaging apps on the internet. Within a week of the official launch, Dubsmash went on to become the most downloaded app in its native Germany – a feat it would later follow in 29 other countries. In a year, Dubsmash had been downloaded more than 20 million times in 192 countries.
The most important driver behind the growth was that you could create short videos in which you would lip-sync to audio clips taken from virtually anywhere. Iconic movie quotes from popular movies and TV shows, the latest chart-topping hits, and the trendiest sounds on the internet were all available. Luckily, even though its looks changed dramatically, the app is still all about dubs and lip-sync videos.
Top Videos on Dubsmash
The app has been witness to millions of unique videos. Everyone from the average Joe and Jane to celebrities has taken to Dubsmash to share their creations. The platform also created its very own stars, with some users now commanding fandoms of millions. Major artists had gone so far as to launch some of their work directly on Dubsmash, as Rihanna did when she launched her single “Bitch Better Have My Money” through the app.
Here we’ll take a pick of some of our favorite Dubsmash videos over the years. A few of them are from celebrities, some from common users, but all of them are fun to watch and share.

In its early years, Dubsmash received a ton of unofficial endorsements from celebrities such as Rihanna, Jimmy Fallon, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Jackman, the Kardashian sisters, and many others. It was just the shot in the arm that the newly launched app needed, with millions of people flocking to Dubsmash in the aftermath.
This video of Hugh Jackman impersonating Alan Richman’s iconic “turn to page 394” dialogue from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is ultra-cool. Don’t you think?

Well, didn’t we talk about Dubsmash not only being a hit among celebrities but the everyday users too? That being said, Dubsmash is still a smashing hit in India, where everyone from celebrities to millennials has taken to the app to show their creative side. Check out this video, which shows that even animals are not untouched by the funny superpowers of Dubsmash!

The Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger used Dubsmash in another ingenious way. When rumors about her dating British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran began circling the internet, Nicole took to Dubsmash to lip-sync Sheeran’s insanely popular “Thinking Out Loud” to dispel the rumors.
If that’s not inventive, we don’t know what is!

Now, this video probably wouldn’t have made to our list except for the fact that what Adam Levine is lip-syncing to in this video is perhaps one of the most iconic movie dialogues ever to hit the big screen!
We realized our list would not be complete without a Sam L. Jackson tribute. And yeah, stand warned, this dub contains strong language.

Well, we do love celebrities a lot, but you know what we love more? When everyday people use Dubsmash to create something so funny that it etches itself forever in the collective consciousness of the internet. Check this gem!

Reese Witherspoon is not only a brilliant actress, but she is also excellent at everything else! Ahem, not to get carried away, but this Dub by Reese and Sofia Vergara is just so funny that we couldn’t help but include it on the list of our favorite videos on Dubsmash!
And yeah, this was made when Reese and Sofia were bored during a lunch break! We wish we could be so creative.

We believe no list of the greatest Dubsmash hits would be complete without the ubiquitous Kardashian sisters. Here’s one where Khloe and Kylie Jenner expressed their love for each other!
Three
Like we said, India loves Dubsmash, and no one in the country has been left untouched by the magic of the app. In this Dub, Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh exchanges a cheesy dialogue with international star Priyanka Chopra. And yes, the gender roles are reversed!
For those of you who don’t understand the language, Ranveer is asking Priyanka if she really wants this marriage, to which Priyanka responds by asking: “Do you really want this divorce?”
Two
This video made by YouTuber Akilah Hughes and British actress Cara Delevingne took us by such surprise that we couldn’t skip it.
One
There have been so many Shrek impersonations on Dubsmash that it was difficult for us to pick one. But this Dub by American-Cuban singer Camila Cabello in which she expertly catches the mood and style of Eddie Murphy’s Donkey is so good that we had to give it the top spot of our list!
