Use this guide to learn how to troubleshoot iPhone X freezing issues. Once you’ve finished reading this guide, your device should hopefully stop freezing as much.

The iPhone X is one of the best 2017-released smartphones, and still stands out as a great choice today. Whilst the device is powered by high end hardware, it does sometimes have problems that cause the phone to freeze or slow down. Usually, these issues can be fixed by troubleshooting the issue at hand. Once you’ve solved the problem, your iPhone X should then start running normally again.

There are usually several causes for iPhone X crashes and iPhone X freezes. It’s often hard to pinpoint the cause without a lot of trial and error. In this guide, we’ve provided a number of troubleshooting steps you can follow so that no matter what the problem is, you’ll be able to get it solved nice and easily. To begin with, simply follow the first steps listed below and then go through each troubleshooting method until you’ve found a fix to your problem.

Delete Bad Apps to Troubleshoot Crashing Problem

Sometimes there may be an application on your device that’s running in the background and causing your device to slow down or freeze. Usually, these types of apps need to be updated so that the freezing problem is fixed. Unfortunately, it can take some time to wait for new app updates, so you should go through your most recently installed apps and remove any that you installed that you think may have caused your device to start freezing. You can keep an eye on the app store listing for that app to see when an update for the freezing problem is released.

Factory Reset Apple iPhone X

If you’re still getting problems with your iPhone X, you may need to factory reset your device. By factory resetting your iPhone, you’ll be sending everything back to factory defaults. This means that any software settings that have changed since you took ownership of the iPhone will be reverted. This should hopefully fix any crashing problems you’ve been receiving. Make sure to perform a full backup of your files and photos before you go ahead with this step because doing a full factory reset will make you lose all of your data otherwise.

  1. Turn on your device
  2. Go to General under Settings
  3. Browse and tap on Reset
  4. Enter your Apple ID and Apple ID password
  5. Now the process to reset your iPhone X should take a few minutes
  6. Once reset, you’ll see the welcome screen asking you to swipe to continue

Memory Problem

If you don’t turn off your iPhone every now and then, your device could get a temporary memory problem. After a few days of constant on-time, you may fill up your device memory. It may struggle to keep up with tasks. Sometimes all you need to do is clear out this data to give it a refresh and get it up to speed again. Follow the steps below to clear your memory on your iPhone X. Please note that this process will not delete any of your data, photos, apps or files.

  1. Go to the Settings app and then go General > Storage & iCloud Usage
  2. Tap Manage Storage
  3. Tap any item within Documents and Data
  4. To delete unwanted items, slide them to the left and then tap Delete
  5. Tap Edit > Delete All to remove all of an app’s data

Lack of Storage

If you’re experiencing freezing on your iPhone X still, it may be because your device doesn’t have enough storage free to run an app efficiently. All you need to do is remove some apps that you no longer use, or get rid of some old videos and photos to clear up some space.
