How To Turn OFF Camera Shutter Sound On Essential PH1
The new Essential PH1 features an amazing camera with high quality. However, the camera shutter sound is one of the concerns of most users. Some find it annoying and can draw unwanted attention especially when taking selfies.
To those in the US, there’s a law stating that turning off the camera sound on your phone is illegal. Phones containing digital cameras must shutter audibly every time you take a photo. Follow the guide below on how to minimize and turn off your Essential PH1 camera shutter sound.
How to Mute Your Essential PH1
One way of turning off your camera sound is to mute or lower down the volume on your smartphone. To do this, you must press “volume down” located on the side of your phone. You continue pressing the button until it goes into vibrate mode. If the volume sound is on mute, the camera shutter sound won’t be heard when you take a photo.
Headphones Don’t Disable Shutter Sound
For other smartphones, there’s a great concept in turning off shutter sounds from the camera by connecting headphones to the aux jack. Nonetheless, this doesn’t work for the Essential PH1. Compared to other smartphones which will play notifications sounds in the headphones once its plugged, Essential PH1 differs since its media audio is separated from the notification sounds. Hence the sound will still play from the speaker as normal.
Use a Standalone Camera App
Another great way to turn off your Essential PH1 shutter noise is through using a third party camera app. This is due to the fact that the built in Android camera app plays a shutter sound when taking a photo though not all camera apps do this. You can try searching for various apps in the Play Store and test them to find out which app doesn’t make a camera shutter sound on your Essential PH1.
