How to Use Your Samsung TV Without Cable
Remember when you needed a cable to watch TV? Thankfully, those days are long gone. There are lots of cord-cutting alternatives available now to suit everybody’s needs.
Of course, you have to take into consideration your model of TV and the apps available. In this article, we’ll explore some options and show you how to use a Samsung TV without cable.
Best Alternatives to Cable TV
Nowadays, there are so many streaming services it’s hard to choose between them. Everything depends on what you usually watch on TV. Some people watch only on-demand content, such as movies and TV shows. Whilst others don’t want to give up on their favorite TV channels.
There are even options that allow you to combine the best of both worlds. These are probably the best choices for families where different generations and tastes share one subscription. Some of the factors you should take into consideration are price, number of channels, and recording options.
Naturally, if you’re already subscribed to a certain streaming service, skip ahead and read the relevant section. We’ve covered the most popular options, and your service is probably among them. If you can’t find it, open the Samsung TV App Store, and hopefully, you should see it there.
How to Use Samsung TV with Hulu Live
We’ll start with Hulu Live as it seems to have it all. It’s a perfect option for those who want to combine live streaming and on-demand content. With Hulu Live, you’ll get access to 60 live TV channels. The offer consists of various types of channels, sports and movies included.
Hulu has a vast on-demand library that’s constantly updated with the latest movies and TV shows.
Moreover, there’s a 30-day free trial, so you can try it out and see whether Hulu Live works for you.
Latest Hulu App
If you have a Samsung TV from 2016 or later, you can download the most modern Hulu app and enjoy all its perks. You can watch Live TV and have unlimited access to its on-demand library. Moreover, you can create various viewer profiles, such as a special profile for your kids.
You can also store the movies you loved in the My Stuff section so you can revisit them whenever you want. You can put likes or dislikes on movies and TV shows, so the app can have a better understanding of your taste and give you personalized recommendations.
All you have to do is go to your Samsung TV app store and download Hulu Live app. If you already have an account, you can subscribe with your credentials, or you can create a new account.
Classic Hulu App
If you have one of the Samsung TV models from 2013, 2014, or 2015, you can still use the Hulu app. However, you may not be able to access all of the features. But you can enjoy watching movies and TV shows from the content library.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to watch Live TV, as this version of the app doesn’t support that feature. Bear that in mind when deciding which service to purchase.
How to Use Samsung TV with Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is another popular option that works really well with Samsung TVs. Many people decide to subscribe to Amazon Prime, as it offers many benefits to its users, not only TV-related.
Amazon Prime may not have all the channels that Hulu Live has. However, it’s a perfect option for HBO fans because it has many different HBO channels. Moreover, its on-demand library is excellent, featuring movies that can only be found exclusively on Amazon.
The quality of sound and video is impressive, and subtitles in different languages are available. Also, you can always reach out to Amazon support if you have any problems. However, bear in mind that Live streaming is available only on Samsung models of 2015 and newer.
If you decide to opt for Amazon Prime, go to Samsung TV App Store and download the Prime Video app. If you already have a profile, sign in. Otherwise, you’ll have to create a new profile to start watching.
How to Use Samsung TV with Netflix
If you want to watch movies and the latest TV shows, Netflix may be the best option for you. Although it doesn’t include any TV channels, it allows you to transform your living room into a movie theatre. Moreover, Netflix produces some pretty cool TV shows that can’t be found on other services.
It’s also the most convenient option for binge-watching. The service is intuitive, so you won’t even have to touch your remote control when the episode ends – it’ll play the next episode for you.
If you’re already subscribed to Netflix, go to the Samsung TV App Store and download the Netflix app. You can sign in with your credentials and immediately start watching. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can do so when you download the app. Just click on Set up my membership, and the app will guide you through the process.
Another great thing about Netflix is its price. It’s a lot cheaper than any cable TV, but it’s also less expensive than other services we mentioned. And the quality of the service is exceptional.

The term” cord-cutting is in reality a glaring deception that is never presented to the consumer as such. Specifically:the “cord” as in the ability of Samsung to spy on and sell literally every single bit of data that is processed by YOUR TV is NEVER “CUT” Regardless of the “source” even it you intend toliterally fire-wall your TV from the outside world because you are using it solely as a “monitor” in order to initially complete the required set-up to fully utilize the features of YOUR TV you MUST create a “Samsung Account”. This “account” forces you to hand over to Samsung personal information that is not just intrusive, but clearly none of their business.
I will not buy another “TV” because I refuse to hand over my personal data to ANY third party, let alone one that intends to use that data not just for their own personal gains, but to literally enable them to manipulate and exploit me based upon that data to further manipulate and exploit me and my family. The power I am forced to hand over to Samsung is not limited to typical commercial products. On the contrary, this information can and is sold to a variety of political entities (typically indirectly) which is of course used to subvert my political views and by extension the way I vote.
In reality, the clear and present danger to US national security that this level of spying by foreign corporations like Samsung represent cannot be over stated…
